Legalisation of foreign nationals

Temporary residence permit – Work

Comprehensive legalisation of employment and residence for foreign nationals in Poland

Hiring foreign nationals in Poland involves numerous formalities, changing regulations and responsibility on the employer's side. At Good Balance we provide comprehensive legal support for the employment of foreign nationals — from preparing the documents to obtaining administrative decisions.

The legalisation of employment covers the entire process that allows a worker to legally perform work and reside in Poland. Our support includes the preparation of declarations, work permits, visas, residence cards and any documentation required by the authorities.

We prepare the documents, file the applications and conduct correspondence on your behalf. We represent your company in administrative proceedings and provide support in the event of inspections or refusals.

Permit

Single permit for temporary residence and work

This document allows a foreign national to legally reside and work in Poland on the basis of a single administrative decision.

For whom

Who can apply?

The permit may be applied for by a foreign national who plans to stay longer than 3 months and whose main purpose is work.

  • Plans to take up or continue work in Poland
  • Has an employer offering employment
  • Plans to stay longer than 3 months
  • May serve on a company's management board

Validity

Period of validity

The permit is issued for a period longer than 3 months, up to a maximum of 3 years.

  • The period depends on the length of employment
  • The decision specifies the employer and the working conditions
  • Requires up-to-date data and documents
A change of employer usually requires a new permit, while a change of position, salary or type of contract requires an amendment to the decision. Some formal changes, e.g. a change of company name, do not require an update.
Conditions

Salary and limitations

We verify the financial conditions and identify situations in which the permit will not be issued.

Salary

Minimum requirements

The foreign national must receive remuneration no lower than the minimum wage in Poland.

  • When working for several employers, the total amount of remuneration is taken into account
  • Employment conditions must comply with the regulations
  • The contract should match the administrative decision

Limitations

When can the permit not be granted?

The permit will not be issued for selected purposes of stay, such as tourism or short-term programmes.

  • Tourist visas and visits
  • Cultural or sports events
  • Studies, training, medical treatment or transit
The administrative decision specifies the employer, position and working conditions — we help ensure full alignment of the documentation with the employee's actual situation.
Conditions

Key obligations

We ensure consistency between the decision, the documents and the actual employment conditions.

Link to the employer

The permit is issued for a specific employer and position.

  • Type of work
  • Salary
  • Form of employment

We help keep the documents aligned with the actual working conditions.

Legal employment

The employer must provide employment in line with the applicable regulations.

  • Correct contracts
  • Required notifications
  • Compliant remuneration

We minimise the legal and administrative risk on the employer's side.

Duty to inform

If the foreign national loses their job, they must inform the authority within 15 working days.

  • Deadline tracking
  • Correspondence with the authority
  • Support during changes

We help you respond quickly to avoid issues with the legality of stay.
